Gymnastics: Cox to Compete at NCAA Nationals

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior gymnast Janáe Cox will compete as an all-arounder at the 2007 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m., in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This is Cox’s third trip to nationals in her four year career. She qualified individually as both a freshman (2004) and a sophomore (2005) for the preliminary sessions.
Cox will compete in rotation with the University of Michigan in session two on April 26, at 7 p.m. The rotation order for Cox and the Wolverines will be vault, bye, bars, beam, bye, floor.
The championships consist of 12 teams, 12 all-around competitors (not on qualifying teams) and individual event specialists.
Preliminary team and all-around competition are conducted in two sessions on Thursday, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The top three teams from each session will advance to the Super Six competition Friday, April 27, at 7 p.m. The top four individuals from each session in each event (plus ties) from the preliminary team and all-around competition will compete in the individual-event competition Saturday, April 28, at 7 p.m.
