Women’s Soccer: Mountaineers Score 1-1 Tie

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie Saturday, April 21, with the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, Ky.

The Mountaineers took an early 1-0 lead 35 minutes into the 90-minute match. Ashley Banks found the net off a perfectly served cornerkick from Kim Bonilla for the game’s first score.

Kentucky, the 2006 SEC Tournament Champions, found the net with 20 minutes remaining to knot the score at 1-1.

West Virginia concludes its spring season Saturday, April 28, with match at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
