Rowing: WVU Completes Crew Classic

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The West Virginia University rowing team completed its weekend at the San Diego Crew Classic on Sunday, April 1, by taking fifth in the petite final of the Cal Cup.

The Mountaineers’ varsity eight boat crossed the finish line in a time of 7:29.22, nearly three seconds ahead of sixth-place UC Santa Barbara.

West Virginia gets two weeks off before competing at the Knecht Cup in Camden, N.J., on the Cooper River April 14-15. The regatta is hosted annually by Villanova and features over 50 collegiate teams from California to Maine.
