MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s tennis team returns to action Sunday, April 1, when BIG EAST foe Villanova visits for a key conference match. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the WVU Tennis Courts.
The Mountaineers (9-9, 3-1) own a 5-0 series record over Villanova. The teams last met in 2006, with WVU winning, 5-1.
WVU is coming off a tough week on the road that saw the Mountaineers go 1-2 at the Golden Eagle Classic last weekend and drop a 2-5 decision to San Diego on Thursday.
Junior Monica Lyskawa leads the squad with a 12-4 singles record and a 10-7 doubles record, giving the Brampton, Ontario, native her first career 20-win season.
The Mountaineers are home for the remainder of the 2007 season. They next host Duquesne on Wednesday, April 4, at 3 p.m. at the WVU Tennis Courts.
