MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia offensive coordinator Calvin Magee has been named 2007 Assistant Coach of the Year by The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Magee has also been selected as one of five finalists for the prestigious Broyles Award, which honors dedicated and hard-working assistants coaches. The award was established to in 1996 to honor former Arkansas coach and current athletic director Frank Broyles, who had an esteemed history for developing and producing great assistant coaches.
Magee joins Auburn defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen, Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Heacock and Kansas defensive coordinator Bill Young as a finalist.
The winner will be announced on Dec. 4, at the Broyles Award Luncheon presented by the Downtown Rotary Club in Little Rock, Ark.
