MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 55-14 win at Syracuse this past Saturday.
Offensive Champion – Owen Schmitt; Defensive Champion – Marc Magro; Special Teams Champion – Pat McAfee; Offensive Scout Champion – Michael Poitier; Defensive Scout Champion – Anthony Wood; Special Teams Scout Champion – Bobby Mary; Hammer Award – None.
The Mountaineers, 5-1 overall, 1-1 Big EAST Conference, No. 8 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, are off this week, before hosting Mississippi State on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN Regional.
