Army Results
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team fell to Army today at the WVU rifle range by a score of 4,600 to 4,675. The loss in the first of the season and drops the Mountaineers to 3-1 on the season.
Freshman Kyle Smith shot a personal best of 580 in the smallbore event but it was not enough as the Mountaineers fell to Army by a score of 2,309 to 2,321.
In air rifle, the Mountaineers had a strong showing, but it was not enough to take over the 2006 national champions. WVU shot a total of 2,291 to Army’s 2,354.
WVU will next play host to the Mountaineer Open on November 3rd in the WVU rifle range. The match is set to start at 8 a.m.
