Let’s bring on the Mountaineers!
The fall has been packed with things to do and deadlines to make. The Mountaineers have already had a few team tailgates, recruiting weekends, and lots of fun at the football games. The team has also been involved in community service such as Light the Night and other activates helping out children in the community. Team pictures for the media guide are done and look great! They were taken at Valley Falls, about 30 minutes from campus. What a beautiful location!
Team captains have been elected, and team goals are being set and met. The team building has been fun, and everyone is looking forward to doing Fright Farm in a couple of weeks! This group is on a mission his year, and they plan on having some fun while doing some seriously hard work.
The team is beginning the fifth week of official practice here in the Mountain State, and practice has been exciting. We have something new for Monday night practice. It is being held a little later than in the past, starting at 5:15 p.m. and going until about 8 p.m. This change has been made so that our fans can come into the gym and watch practice. The doors to the Cary Gym are always open to the public, but a special night has been set aside for anyone that would like to come in and support the Mountaineers after work. The team has been working very hard these past few months getting into shape and upgrading skills in the gym.
With the arrival of eight freshmen the gym is busy and full of energy. Each one brings something special to the program. It will be interesting to watch them as they settle in and start to let their strengths show through.
We hope you look forward to reading updates from different team members through out the fall!
Let’s Go Mountaineers!
