Volleyball: WVU Falls to No. 2 Penn State

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The West Virginia University volleyball team lost three games in a row to No. 2 Penn State today.
Penn State (5-0) won the match 3-0 (30-11, 30-14, 30-14).
West Virginia (1-4) was faced with a 0-7 deficit early on in game one. With only six kills to Penn State’s 16, the game went to the Nittany Lions by a score of 30-11.
The Mountaineers struggled in game two, shaken by their loss in game one. Penn State registered 14 kills in their 30-14 victory over WVU.
West Virginia tried to keep things close in game three, but the Nittany Lions were too much in the end. Penn State walked away with another 30-14 win.
Outside hitter Marissa Meyers led the Mountaineers with five kills while teammate Aurora Ebert-Santos registered 10 digs.
West Virginia will close out its portion of the Penn State Invitational with a 4 p.m. match against Eastern Kentucky.
