Cross Country: WVU Travels to Lock Haven Invite

The West Virginia University cross country team (1-0) will return to action this weekend in the Lock Haven Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11:30 a.m., in Lock Haven, Pa.
The squad, led by second year head coach Sean Cleary, returns to competition after a two week break. The team’s led by redshirt freshman Clara Grandt. Grandt, a West Union, W.Va., native, finished first in the West Virginia Open with a time of 15:32. Sophomore Alison Spiker and junior Maria Stover also look to contribute to the Mountaineer’s success.
The team will be running against a field of 13 teams, which includes Penn State and BIG EAST foe Rutgers. The invitational will be the squad’s first race on a national course this season.
