Football: Big East Reveals TV Slate

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The BIG EAST Conference will be among the nation's most televised conferences once again in 2006 as the league continues multi-year deals with ABC Sports and ESPN as its broadcast network television partners.
Four games have already been selected to air on ABC, beginning on Sept. 2 when Rutgers travels to North Carolina. The following week, Syracuse will host Iowa on ABC. On Sept. 16, two games will be part of ABC's Saturday afternoon regional coverage at - Miami (Fla.) at Louisville and Michigan State at Pittsburgh. All of these ABC games will start at 3:30 p.m. Eastern time.
The BIG EAST has an extensive slate of games scheduled for ESPN or ESPN2, beginning with a Sunday night intrastate showdown between Louisville and Kentucky on Sept. 3 at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN. In all, 16 games are currently scheduled to air on either ESPN and ESPN2. In addition, two contests can be seen on ESPNU with three more games being streamed live on ESPN 360, ESPN's customized broadband service available at www.ESPN360.com.
The ESPN Regional BIG EAST Game of the Week package is one of the largest in the nation, reaching more than 30 million homes. The BIG EAST Game of the Week schedule will begin on Sept. 16 with Cincinnati at Ohio State. All games kick off at noon eastern time. A number of contests broadcast by ESPN Regional are also offered as part of the ESPN GamePlan pay subscription service. Dave Sims and John Congemi return as the ERT broadcast team, along with sideline reporter Quint Kessenich.
Two games can be seen on College Sports Television (CSTV) in `06 - the Sept. 16 game pairing USF at Central Florida and an Oct. 14 contest featuring Rutgers at Navy.
Check the BIG EAST web site at www.bigeast.org throughout the season for updated football television information. The remainder of the BIG EAST television slate will primarily be determined on a 12-day or six-day advance selection process.
