Women's Soccer: Newcomer Named Parade All-American

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Carolyn Blank, who will join the West Virginia University women’s soccer team as a freshman this fall, has been named to the 2006 Parade magazine High School Girls All-America team.
Blank, a Toms River, N.J., native, is one of 25 high school soccer players to earn the honor. She is the second Parade High School Girls All-American to play for the Mountaineers in WVU women’s soccer history (Megan Sheehy, 1997).
Also tabbed one of the Top 50 recruits in the country by SoccerBuzz, Blank is a three-time national team pool player and a former member of the U-16 national team. The Toms River, N.J., native is a three-time NSCAA youth All-American who plays club soccer for the PDA Wildcats, the 2003 national champions. A versatile player with the ability to play midfield or defender, she has been a state and regional ODP team member since 2001 and is the all-time leading scorer and four-time MVP at Toms River High. Blank is also a four-time all-state, all-county and all-conference honoree.
