MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track team will travel to College Park, Md., to compete in the Terrapin Invitational at Kehoe Field on April 1. Running events are set to begin at 9 a.m., while field events will start at 10 a.m.
“This is our first time going over to Maryland to face a lot of good East Coast competition and this should be a nice challenge for our girls,” head coach Jeff Huntoon said. “We took care of a lot of business down in Charlotte so we are training for championship mode.”
West Virginia’s last time out on the track was at the Charlotte 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C., two weeks ago.
Event winners included senior Lindsey Clark, who won the javelin with a throw of 39.81 meters, sophomore Maria Stover, who won the 1500-meter run at a top time of 4:43.80, and junior Jessica Czaikowski, who ran a 24.34 to take the 200-meter dash.
Jamillah Nock took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.93) and senior Junique Morris also finished in the top five of the 100-meter dash at 11.98 seconds.
WVU’s relay teams were also among the best at the meet. The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams took third and fourth, respectively.
