MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University swimmers Chris Hagedorn, Kyle Williams, Nick Delic, Pablo Marmolejo and Andrew Langenfeld were named honorable mention All-Americans after their performances at the NCAA Championships, March 23-25, in Atlanta, Ga.
"To have five honorable mention All-Americans in just my second season here at West Virginia is very good," head coach Sergio Lopez said. "Our guys are young and it's a great indication of where this program is going."
Hagedorn, Williams, Delic and Langenfeld all earned honorable mention honors as members of the 200 free relay that placed 13th.
Delic, who hails from Split, Croatia, garnered his second honorable mention as he finished 13th in the 100 breast. He was also a member of the 400 free relay that competed.
Marmolejo finished 13th in the 200 fly and also competed in the 200 IM as well as the 100 fly.
Hagedorn, a Clarksburg, W.Va., and Langenfeld, a freshman from Centralia, Ill., both also competed at the championships in the 50 free, 100 fly and 400 free relay.
Williams was a member of the 400 free relay team as well.
The last time West Virginia had at least five swimmers honored in one season was back in 1986. The Mountaineers placed 30th at the Championships with 16 total team points.
