Men's Swimming: Swimmers Advance to NCAA Finals

ATLANTA, Ga. - The West Virginia University men's swimming and diving 200 free relay team has advanced to the NCAA Championship finals this evening, March 23, at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
"Overall we swam very well and fast today," head coach Sergio Lopez said. "I'm very impressed with the way we performed today."
The 200 free relay team, comprised of senior Chris Hagedorn, freshman Andrew Langenfeld, sophomore Nick Delic and junior Kyle Williams, swam the race in 1:19.47, good enough for 11th place in the preliminaries. The top 15 teams advanced to tonight's finals.
In the 50 free, Hagedorn finished 31st in a time of 19.94. Langenfeld posted a personal best time in the 50 free of 20.20 and finished 46th.
Sophomore Pablo Marmolejo competed in the 200 IM and finished 43rd in a time of 1:50.11. Despite not qualifying for the finals, the time was one of Marmolejo's fastest of his career.
Finals will be begin at 7 p.m. this evening.
