MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University baseball team’s first game against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday, March 21, at Hawley Field, has been cancelled due to the threat of inclement weather.
The second game of the two-game series with the Bonnies (4-4) on Wednesday, March 22, at 3 p.m., will be played as regularly scheduled.
WVU (15-3) is coming off a 4-0 record from last week in which the Mountaineers topped Norfolk State once, and swept Eastern Michigan in a three-game weekend series.
West Virginia has now won nine straight games and all home games at Hawley Field this season. WVU’s nine-game win streak is the ninth-longest in the country at the current time, while the Mountaineers’ 12-game home winning streak, which dates back to 2005, is the eighth longest in the nation.
