Gymnastics: West Virginia Cracks Top 25

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s gymnastics team is now ranked in the NCAA Top 25 for the first time this season. The Mountaineers are ranked No. 24 in the nation according to their 193.190 regional qualifying score (RQS).
West Virginia (9-5) holds the top RQS in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League and the third-best score in the Southeast Region behind only Georgia (196.965) and Florida (196.170), the nation’s No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams.
The Mountaineers are also ranked in the Top 25 on the uneven bars with a 19th-ranked RQS of 48.605. On the other three events, West Virginia is 27th on vault (48.555) and floor exercise (48.4) and 39th on the balance beam (47.61).
West Virginia returns to action at North Carolina on Saturday, March 4, at 1 p.m. for a four-team meet that also includes Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania.
