MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's tennis team will hit the road to face BIG EAST rival Pitt on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 1:30 p.m. in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Mountaineers (2-4, 1-0 BIG EAST) look to continue their winning ways in the BIG EAST after defeating Cincinnati, 7-0, on Feb. 3.
"We are excited to get back into match play," head coach Dan Silverstein said. "We have had great practice sessions these past two weeks and we are ready to take on a much improved Pitt team. We are 1-0 in conference play and look to leave the women's tennis version of the backyard brawl at 2-0 in the league."
The Panthers (4-1) are coming off a 9-0 win against Mercyhurst on Feb. 20, and face off against Georgetown on Saturday, Feb. 25, before the match with WVU.
West Virginia enters the meeting with a 25-1-0 advantage against Pitt that dates back to 1974. The Mountaineers shut out the Panthers 7-0 in 2005.
