Gymnastics: Janàe Cox in SI This Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University gymnast Janàe Cox will be featured in the Feb. 27 issue of Sports Illustrated, which hits newsstands on Thursday, Feb. 23.

Cox is listed as one of seven athletes in the magazine’s “Faces in the Crowd” section.

The junior from Otisco, Ind., is recognized for being named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League gymnast of the week on Feb. 7.

Cox earned the EAGL weekly honor after posting the league’s highest all-around score of the season in a four-team home meet on Feb. 5.

Her 39.375 all-around score consisted of season highs on all four events, including a 9.925 on the floor exercise, a 9.875 on the uneven bars, a 9.85 vault and a 9.725 on the balance beam. Cox has since tied her beam score from that meet and surpassed her score on vault with a 9.875 on Feb. 10.
