Women's Soccer: Cicchini, Everrett Honored

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer players Amanda Cicchini and Deana Everrett have both been named to the NSCAA all-Mid-Atlantic region second team.
Cicchini, a sophomore central midfielder, was a first team all-BIG EAST selection who scored four goals and had three assists for 11 points on the season. The Oakville, Ontario, Canada, native started 17 of 20 games after joining the Mountaineers in late August after playing for Team Canada in the FIFA U-20 World Championships.
Everrett, a sophomore forward, ranked in the top five in the nation in goals for most of the regular season. Everrett, who’s also a native of Oakville, led the BIG EAST with 18 goals and 43 points entering the NCAA tournament. She was twice named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and was named to the all-BIG EAST first team. Everrett became the highest scoring sophomore in school history and ranks second all-time in single season goals with 18 in 2006.
WVU finished the season with a 14-4-3 record after a 2-0 loss to Virginia in the first round of the NCAA tournament in Winston-Salem, N.C.
