Women's Basketball: WVU hosts St. Francis, Pa.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va - The West Virginia University women's basketball team hosts its final non-conference home game of the season when St. Francis, Pa., comes to the WVU Coliseum, Saturday, December 30, at 4:30 p.m., following the WVU men's contest with Connecticut.
WVU (7-5, 0-1) is 1-0 all-time against the Red Flash (3-6) having defeated them 74-68 two seasons ago at the Coliseum. The Mountaineers enter the contest boasting a 31-1 home record against non-conference opposition under the direction of coach Mike Carey.
Last time out, WVU fell at No. 5 Tennessee, 66-51, Dec. 20, while St. Francis lost at Kent State, 85-52.
Red Flash coach Jill Poe is a 1989 graduate of WVU and is the sister of WVU sports information director Shelly Poe.
Next up for the Mountaineers is No. 6 Connecticut, Tuesday, January 2, at 8:00 p.m. That contest will be televised nationally on CSTV.
