Volleyball: WVU Gets First BIG EAST Victory

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The West Virginia University volleyball team defeated Georgetown 3-1 (31-29, 29-31, 32-30, 30-22) in a highly contested match Friday, Sept. 30 in Washington, D.C.
West Virginia (11-5, 1-2) bounced back from two BIG EAST losses to get its first conference victory of the season.
"Tonight was a total team effort," assistant coach Camille Gutierrez said. "It was a tough win at Georgetown, but this give us a lot of confidence for more BIG EAST play."
The Mountaineers travel down to South Florida to take on the Bulls on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m.
