Volleyball: Mountaineers Open BIG EAST Play

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team will open BIG EAST play this weekend as they host Rutgers on Friday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. and then Villanova on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum.
The Mountaineers (10-3) are coming off its second tournament title of the season after winning the WVU Classic last weekend. Senior Kelly Mullins was named tournament MVP, while junior Aurora Ebert-Santos and sophomore Kailee Goold also made the all-tournament team.
Goold was recognized for her efforts and named to the BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor Roll. She had a total of 189 assists and 49 digs in the four matches during the week.
West Virginia is looking to extend its six-game win streak. The Mountaineers lead the all-time series against Rutgers 20-14.
