MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women’s soccer team continues to be among the nation’s 25 best squads for the week of September 19.
The Mountaineers (3-3-2, 0-1-0) dropped three spots to No. 23 in the coaches poll and fell to No. 30 in the SoccerBuzz Top 30 after a two-tie performance last weekend. West Virginia is not ranked in this week’s Soccer America poll.
Five of West Virginia 2005 opponents are either ranked or receiving votes this week: Portland (No.2/3), Virginia (No.10/13), Connecticut (No.16/18), Marquette (No. 15/20) and Tennessee (NR/RV).
The Mountaineers end their five-match road trip with a return to conference play on Friday, Sept. 23, at Syracuse. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
West Virginia returns to Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m., versus St. John’s. The match is the first leg of a doubleheader with the WVU men’s team as part of Super Soccer Sunday presented by Chick-fil-A.
