MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University is currently tied for ninth place after day one of the 129th annual ECAC women’s outdoor track and field championships held at the Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.
Also in ninth are Pittsburgh and Yale.
Senior Tara Struyk placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:50.54 to pick up five points for the Mountaineers. Princeton’s Meredith Lambert won the race with a time of 16:43.47.
Struyk was the only WVU performer to place Friday evening. Jest three events were held.
Columbia is in first place with 24 team points. The meet continues through Sunday.
