Brenner, who redshirted the 2004-05 WVU season, posted a fourth-place finish at 84 kg/185 lbs. The Freedom, Pa., native tallied a 4-2 record over the two-day tournament in a field that featured the nation’s best 17-20 year old wrestlers.
Lebe, a 2005 NCAA All-American, won his first two matches at 74 kg/163 lbs. before dropping this third match to eventual champion and Olympian Joe Williams. Lebe was paired up against Williams for the second straight year before finishing one win shy of placing. The Jeannette, Pa., native closed out the weekend with a 3-2 mark.
Sophomore Fryling posted a 2-1 record in Las Vegas at 74 kg/163 lbs. Fryling won his first two matches including a fall in his second bout at 1:26. Fryling then dropped a match to former Pitt All-American Carl Fronhofer who failed to advance to the semifinals, thus preventing Fryling from moving on.
All three grapplers competed in the men’s freestyle portion of their tournaments and for the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club.
