MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University sophomore guard Meg Bulger has been named a Kodak/WBCA All-America finalist today.
The Pittsburgh, Pa., native is one of 48 national finalists and one of just six WBCA Region I candidates to be named to the national list. There are eight regions in the WBCA and six players from each region comprise the national list. Ten players will be named first team Kodak/WBCA All-Americans.
Bulger is joined on the Region I list by Notre Dame's Jacqueline Batteast and Megan Duffy, George Washington's Ann Montañana, Cappie Pondexter of Rutgers and Connecticut's Ann Strother.
Bulger, a 6-foot guard, led the BIG EAST in scoring all season and currently boasts a 19.3 points per game average, tallying 560 points. She has recorded 14 20-point games this year, tops in the conference, made a team-best 73 three-pointers and grabbed 156 rebounds, second-most on the squad.
The Kodak/WBCA All-America team will be announced April 2.
West Virginia (17-12) returns to action Friday, March 18, at 7:00 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum in the 2005 Postseason Sportsview.tv WNIT first round as it hosts Maine (20-9).
