PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm, USF running back Andre Hall, West Virginia linebacker Kevin McLee and Pittsburgh defensive back Josh Lay received BIG EAST Conference weekly football honors on Monday. Brohm and Hall share this week's BIG EAST Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, while McLee earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Lay was named BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week.
In a 56-5 win over Rutgers on Nov. 11, Brohm completed 22-of-30 passes (73.3 percent) for 315 yards and three touchdowns. It was his fifth 300-yard passing game of the season. Brohm also ran for a one-yard touchdown. This is the fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor for the Louisville sophomore this season.
Hall earns Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. He carried the ball 24 times for 222 yards (9.3 avg.) and three touchdowns in USF's 27-0 victory over Syracuse on Nov. 12. The 222 yards rushing is the second best rushing performance in the BIG EAST this season.
In West Virginia's 38-0 shutout victory over Cincinnati on Nov. 9, McLee posted seven tackles, a forced fumble, an interception and a pass break-up. The two turnovers both set up WVU scores. McLee and the Mountaineer defense held the Bearcats to just 62 yards rushing.
In Pittsburgh's 24-0 victory over Connecticut on Nov. 12, Lay returned a blocked field goal 71 yards for a Panther touchdown. Defensively, he registered six tackles and a fourth quarter interception in the end zone that helped preserve the Panther shutout.
