The kid says it was him, although I must admit I vaguely remember the conversation. I know there will be doubters, but let’s face it, the kid says he’s telling the truth so I’m sticking with him. Sure, some slap-stick anchor on ESPN will claim it was one of their production assistants who concocted the moniker on a cold winter night a couple of seasons ago.

| Cameron Wilson, pictured to the left, came up with the phrase 'You've been Pittsnogled' while shooting baskets in his driveway with his older brother Preston, pictured to the right. They are the sons of Kevin and Tara Wilson.

But the kid says it was him -- before ESPN, CNN, FOX, S-I, CSI, and E-I-E-I-O jumped on the bandwagon. It was the kid and I believe him.
More than three years ago, the kid’s proud dad introduced me to his son in a parking lot and said every time junior swishes a long-distance jumper in someone’s face he yells, “You’ve been Pittsnogled.”
I gave dad and the kid a smile of amusement told him it was cute and then we went our separate ways. Little did I know that the conversation was analogous to the inventor of Coca-Cola slipping me an index card with the recipe.
College basketball’s verbal image of the Mona Lisa had just been created and all I gave the kid and his proud pop was a smile and a quick nod of the head.
But now the time has come for me to give the kid his due. Let’s face it, not many of us will ever create a word, let alone a verb that has “street cred” not only from Weirton to Welch and Martinsburg to Matewan, but from New York to Newport Beach.
Eleven-year-old Cameron Wilson of nearby Monumental, W.Va., may go on to become one of the great slogan creators the world has ever seen -- or this could be his 15 minutes of fame. Whatever the future may hold, Cameron, 'You've just been Pittsnogled!'
And don’t let anyone ever tell you different: Cameron Wilson is to “Pittsnogled” what Neil Armstrong was to moon walking.
Way to go Cameron!
