Volleyball: Mountaineers Defeated by Pitt

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The West Virginia University volleyball team was defeated by Pitt, 3-1 (30-28, 28-30, 22-30, 28-30) on Friday, Oct. 14 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Senior Julie Hockenson led all Mountaineers (13-8, 2-5 BIG EAST) with 14 kills on the night. Freshman Lisa Hough had a career high 12 kills, with senior Stephanie Zolna adding 10 kills and 16 digs. Sophomore Kailee Goold continues to control the West Virginia offense, having yet another double-double with 41 assists and 10 digs. Junior Aurora Ebert-Santos finished the evening with 26 digs.
Diana Andreyko led the Panthers with 22 kills and Gina Ullery having 20.
The Mountaineers return to action when they travel to face Youngstown State on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
