Women's Soccer: Mountaineers Climb In Weekly Polls

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Boosted by its five-match win streak, the West Virginia University women’s soccer team climbed in all the major soccer rankings for the week of October 11.

The Mountaineers’ (8-3-3, 5-1-1) highest ranking comes from SoccerBuzz, which has WVU in its No. 16 slot, up five from last week’s No. 21 spot. West Virginia is up three spots in both the NSCAA and Soccer America polls, ranked 18th and 21st, respectively.

West Virginia plays at Villanova, which is currently receiving votes in the SoccerBuzz slate, on Friday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. WVU then travels to Georgetown for a 1 p.m., match on Sunday, Oct. 16.
