Wrestling: Theme Nights Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestling fans can watch the 17th-ranked Mountaineers take to the mat while also enjoying several theme nights for all home matches this season.
WVU has once again put together a competitive schedule with the home opener slated for Saturday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., against sixth-ranked Hofstra. Prior to the dual meet, a youth clinic will take place at 11:15 a.m. for youth wrestlers with a paid admission. Veteran head coach Craig Turnbull and Olympic freestyle head coach Zeke Jones will serve as clinicians.
The Mountaineers welcome Ohio University on Friday, Feb. 11, for a 8:00 p.m. contest. “Alumni Night” is the theme as several former Mountaineer athletes and graduates will be in attendance.
West Virginia hosts its first Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) dual meet on Thursday, Feb. 17. Fans can pack the WVU Coliseum as the Mountaineers battle EWL rival Edinboro at 7:30 p.m. After the match, Mountaineer wrestlers will sign autographs including national champion Greg Jones and All-American Brandon Lauer.
The final home meet against Cleveland State is slated for Friday, Feb. 18, at 8:00 p.m. Come out and support three Mountaineer seniors who have put in years of hard work during “Senior Night.”
