MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s cross country team is ranked 30th in FinishLynx’s national cross country poll released on Monday, Sept. 20.
WVU is ranked fifth in the mid-Atlantic region behind Princeton, Villanova, Georgetown and Penn State according to the WICCC (Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association) poll.

No. 2 Providence, No. 4 Notre Dame, No. 10 Villanova and No. 15 Georgetown join West Virginia as representatives of the only conference to boast five teams in the rankings. The Pac 10, ACC and BIG XII all have four teams in the top 30.
The Mountaineers (4-0) have posted two strong efforts thus far with a first place finish at the Duquesne Duals and a third place finish at the Indiana State Invitational behind No. 7 Michigan and No. 16 Arkansas.
WVU returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when it travels to St. Paul, Minn., to compete in the Roy Griak Invitational.
