Women's Soccer: Mountaineers 15th

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA/adidas) has ranked the West Virginia University women's soccer team 15th in its preseason poll.
The No. 15 ranking is the highest preseason slot the Mountaineers have ever earned in the NSCAA/adidas season-opening poll.
Four other BIG EAST schools made the list with Notre Dame (No. 3) earning the highest spot. The others include Connecticut (No. 8), Boston College (No. 19) and Villanova (No. 22).
Earlier this month, WVU was tabbed No. 20 and No. 24 by SoccerBuzz and Soccer America, respectively.
The Mountaineers open their 2004 season with two matches at UK Invitational. West Virginia takes on Kentucky, Friday, Aug. 27, at 7:30 p.m., and Ohio at 11:30 a.m., on Sunday, Aug. 29.
The Mountaineers' home opener will be on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m., against Purdue with dedication of Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium coming as the first part of a double-header with the men's team on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m.
