MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's rowing team travels to Washington D.C., on Saturday, April 8, to compete in the GW Invitational Crew Classic, at 9 a.m.
The team is coming off of its first regatta of the spring, the San Diego Crew Classic, where they finished seventh in the petite final last weekend. Coach Nancy LaRocque says that the finish should give the varsity eight boat a jump start into this weekend.
"We're hoping to better our results from last weekend," says LaRocque.
WVU's varsity eight will once again row against some of the toughest programs in the nation as they face off against Navy, Southern California, St. Joseph's, Tennessee, George Washington, Georgetown and Iowa.
This weekend the entire team will travel to the race, letting the team's junior varsity boats get some experience.
"Everyone is really looking forward to their first race," says LaRocque.
Results will be posted throughout the day on row2k.com.
