Women's Tennis: WVU Falls in Season Finale

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The West Virginia University women’s tennis team fell to No. 73 Virginia Tech, 6-1, in its season finale on Sunday, April 25, at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Va.
The Mountaineers (10-9, 3-6) were swept in doubles play before falling to the Hokies in five of six singles matches.
West Virginia’s lone victory on the day came when sophomore No. 5 seed Raynie Theis defeated Carolina Rodriguez, 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (12).
Saturday’s match marks the end of the 2003-04 campaign, West Virginia’s second consecutive winning season under third-year coach Dan Silverstein.
