MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University women's basketball guard Meg Bulger has been named the BIG EAST's player of the week for her efforts in WVU's win at East Carolina last week.
Her award marks the second time she has been named player of the week this year. She shares the honor this week with Seton Hall's Monique Blake.
The Pittsburgh native tied a career-high with 30 points on 12-18 shooting including 4-7 from three-point range in WVU's 76-54 win against the Pirates. She also tallied a career-best six steals to go along with six rebounds and three assists in 39 minutes of action.
The sophomore's 30 points marked the fifth time this season that she has scored 20 or more in a game, tops in the conference. Bulger is currently WVU's and the BIG EAST's leading scorer, averaging 19.9 points per contest.
West Virginia returns to action Thursday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. (EST) when it travels to Texas A&M - Corpus Christi to take on the Islanders in the schools' first-ever meeting. The Islanders are 9-2 on the year.
