MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University men's soccer team is set to host Delaware at the Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium on Tuesday, Nov. 2, for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
Although the game does not affect the Mountaineers' (10-6-1) spot in the BIG EAST tournament coach Mike Seabolt and his team will look to keep up their current momentum. WVU is on a five game unbeaten streak, winning five of its last eight. The Mountaineers last loss came against Seton Hall on Oct. 9.
The game is especially important to sophomore goalkeeper Nick Noble who could secure the lowest goals against average in school history for a season with a shutout on Tuesday. He currently holds a .84 GAA, .05 better than Mark Bachteler's school record of .89 set in 1989.
Noble also currently holds the seventh most all-time goalkeeper minutes in school history for a single season with 1502.48 minutes logged so far this season.
The Blue Hens (4-12-1) enter Tuesday's match having lost three straight and eight of their last 10. Delaware has had a tough time keeping opponents out of its net as they have allowed 33 goals and only scored 25.
The Blue Hens possess a lethal goal scorer in freshman Sobhan Tadjalli. The Hockeson, Del., native has scored 11 goals on the season and is coming off two consecutive Colonial Athletic Association player of week honors.
This will be the first time that WVU and Delaware have met on a soccer field.
