MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University women's basketball sophomore guard Meg Bulger will miss two to three weeks of preseason practice with a stress reaction in her right tibia.
"I believe Meg will be back before long and we're looking for her to have a great season when she's 100 percent," 2003-04 BIG EAST coach of the year Mike Carey said. "We're fortunate that this is not a major injury."
Bulger, a Pittsburgh, Pa., native, was the 2004 BIG EAST freshman of the year after helping the Mountaineers to a 21-11 record and an NCAA Tournament berth last season. She appeared in 26 games last season, averaging 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per contest.
West Virginia begins practice for the 2004-05 season, Saturday, October 16, at the WVU Coliseum.
