Football: Pompili Joins Strength Staff

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Jason Pompili has been named assistant strength and conditioning coach for West Virginia University. He replaces John McCallister, who took a similar position at Mississippi State.
Pompili has served as an intern and then graduate assistant in the Mountaineer strength program since 2001, working with football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, swimming and women’s soccer. He also has experience with the WVU Rec Center, Healthworks and Morgantown High football. He holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American Council on Exercise and the American Heart Association.
Pompili is a Morgantown native and a graduate of University High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from WVU in 2002, and is completing work this semester on a master’s degree in athletic coaching education.
