Nitardy Joins MAC staff

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- John Nitardy will join the staff of the Mountaineer Athletic Club as senior director of athletic development, effective October 1.
Nitardy comes to WVU from the University of Massachusetts, where he served as associate athletic director for development since 1997, overseeing the annual and capital fundraising for UMass athletics. He was responsible for the UMass Athletic Fund (UMAF), whose contributions exceeded $11 million and contributors increased from 600 to 2,200 annually. From 1990-97, he was director of athletic development at UMass. Prior to that, he was associate athletic director for external development at South Alabama.
A 1981 graduate of South Carolina, where he was a four-year soccer letterman, Nitardy, a native of Oswego, N.Y., holds a master's degree in sports administration from Ohio University. He and his wife Laurie have two sons, Tucker and Mason.
