Track: James Madison Invite Results

HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The West Virginia track teams had a successful day of competition at the James Madison Invitational, on Sunday, May 11, in Bridgeforth Stadium.
For the women’s team, the distance runners had another stellar day on the track.
Jen Kemp won the 800m in 2:06.75, Megan Metcalfe won the 1,500m in 4:21.37 and Tara Struyk won the 3,000m in 9:50.97.
Other top-finishers for the women included Nancy Regalbuto, who placed second in the high jump at 1.64m and Ciara Chic, who placed third in the 100m in 11.90 seconds and fourth in the 200m in 24.64 seconds.
For the men’s team, in the pole vault, Mike Yurcho placed second at 4.75m and Jason Mandato placed fourth at 4.60m.
Other top-finishers for the men included William White, who placed third in the 100m in 10.68 seconds, Robbie Watson, who placed third in the 3,000m in 8:32.71, and Erik Bennett, who placed fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase in 9:33.75.
The track teams return to action this weekend, May 16-18, at the IC4A and ECAC championships in Princeton, N.J.
