Women's Soccer: Two Earn All-America Accolades

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University senior women's soccer players Chrissie Abbott and Lisa Stoia recently earned NSCAA All-America accolades.
Abbott, a native of North Olmsted, Ohio, was a second team selection after leading the Mountaineers with 13 goals and eight assists for a team-high 34 points in 2003. A 2002 first-team All-American, the forward is a SoccerBuzz player of the year finalist for the second straight season. Abbott was also a Hermann Trophy semifinalist. She ended her career at West Virginia as the all-time goals scored (53) and career points leader (125).
A two-time BIG EAST midfielder of the year, Stoia earned first team All-America recognition for the first time in her career. Last season, the Shirley, N.Y., native, was a second team NSCAA selection. Stoia finished her senior season as West Virginia's second leading scorer with seven goals and 11 assists for 25 points. Her season assists total is a WVU record, and she is the Mountaineers' all-time leading play maker with 31 career assists.
