MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Mountaineer volleyball team will close out the season with matches at the WVU Coliseum against conference-leader Notre Dame on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., and against Syracuse on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m.
The Mountaineers (6-19, 2-8) have lost three straight matches after winning three out of five.
Sophomore Stephanie Zolna leads WVU in kills with 246 while junior Alison Zemanski ranks second with 242. Zemanski’s 79 total blocks paces the squad while fellow junior Brandice Studnicka has tallied a team-high 806 assists to complement 218 digs.
Sunday’s match against the Orangewomen will be the final match for seniors Jennifer Hayhurst, Dimitra Havriluk and Kristi King.
Havriluk and King both rank in the all-time top-ten list in the digs category while Hayhurst, a Parkersburg, W.Va., native, is the team captain and a consistent performer at her right side hitter position.
