Swimming: WVU Swept by Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The WVU men's and women's swimming and diving teams were swept by Rutgers in their first BIG EAST dual meet of the season on Saturday afternoon, at the RU Aquatics Center.
The men (2-1) lost by a 140-98 count, while the women's team fell to the Scarlet Knights, 142-91.
Top performances for the women (1-3) included a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle by Ashley Bissett (10:25.85) and a second-place finish by Lee Ann Johnston in the 200 backstroke (2:11.73).
For the Mountaineer men, all-BIG EAST senior Kleyton Franca notched a 1:41.55 to place first in the 200 freestyle. Junior Kevin Van Buskirk placed first in the 1000 free with a time of 9:37.81.
The Mountaineers will compete against Seton Hall on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m., in South Orange, N.J.
