Men's Soccer: Knights Blank WVU

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 16-ranked Rutgers got goals from Josh Gros and Chris Karcz to blank West Virginia 2-0 Saturday night in men’s college soccer action in Piscataway.
Gros’ goal came as a result of a penalty kick at the 2:48 mark and Karrcz’s goal at 18:29 was scored from 25 yards out and was unassisted.
Scarlet Knight goal keeper Scott Conway only had to save on shot in producing the shutout victory. West Virginia, now 4-9-3, could manage just two shots for the game.
Mountaineer goal keeper Nick Noble turned away four Rutgers shots.
Rutgers held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks and took 20 total shots.
The Scarlet Knights improve to 8-4-3 with the victory.
WVU wraps up Big East regular season play next Saturday at home against St. John’s and faces in-state rival Marshall on Sunday, Nov. 2 to complete the regular season.
