Baseball: Game Three Set For Tonight

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Strong rain forced the West Virginia University baseball team off the diamond on Tuesday for game three of WVU’s Blue-Gold World Series. Game three is rescheduled for tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m. at Hawley Field.
The annual Blue-Gold World Series kicked off on Sunday afternoon with the blue squad outlasting the gold club for a 14-12 victory. In game two on Monday, the Blue team again came away victorious, posting an 11-7 win.
Offensively, sophomore Stan Posluszny stole the show with two solid performances for WVU’s blue team. On Sunday, Posluszny went 3-6 at the plate, tallying three RBI and three doubles. On Monday, the Aliquippa, Pa., native finished 2-4 with two solo home runs.
The 13th annual alumni game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18. The eighth annual WVU baseball marathon game will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19.
