MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The No.6 West Virginia University women's soccer team (11-2-0, 3-1-0) rallied from a 1-0 deficit, scoring two goals in the match's last eight minutes, to defeat Seton Hall (3-8-1, 1-2-0) 2-1 on Sunday afternoon at the Mountaineer Soccer Complex.

Seton Hall's Rita Massot gave the Pirates an early 1-0 lead when she put a shot from 20 yards out over WVU keeper Lana Bannerman's head in the 23rd minute.
Despite owning a 27-3 halftime advantage on shots, the Mountaineers were unable to put one in the back of net and the Pirates kept their lead.
West Virginia came out shooting again the second half, but it wasn't until junior defender Lisa Zanti put the rebound off her own shot into the goal at the 81:14 mark that the Mountaineers could capitalize on their offensive dominance.
Seven minutes later, senior Lisa Stoia played a square pass near the goal line to sophomore midfielder Marisa Kanela and Kanela tapped the ball into the goal for the game-winner.
"Seton Hall played a great game today, but West Virginia found a way to win," said head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. "We battled for 90 minutes and came out on top. I'm very proud of this team today."
The Mountaineers finished the contest with 49 shots, a new school record for shots in a game.
With the win, West Virginia extends its regular season home win streak to 16 matches.
West Virginia returns to action on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m., when they play host to non-conference foe Radford at the Mountaineer Soccer Complex.
