Varsity Sports: Kruze Named Athlete of the Week

Morgantown, W.VA. - West Virginia University has named senior soccer player Rachel Kruze its athlete of the week for her efforts against Virginia and James Madison.
The Webster, N.Y., native scored the first goal in West Virginia’s 2-1 victory over No. 8 Virginia on Friday, September 13. Kruze also assisted on Marisa Kanela’s goal in the Mountaineer’s 3-0 shutout of No.24 James Madison. She was the only Mountaineer to record a point in both of the week’s matches.
Others nominated: Allison Zemanski (volleyball), Tony Epkey (men’s tennis), Melissa Day (women’s tennis), Raynie Theis (women’s tennis).
