Ryan Mroczka joined West Virginia University Athletics as an academic counselor in July 2026.

Mroczka most recently served as an academic success program intern at Michigan, where he worked closely with the Michigan football academic staff and players. He was responsible for supporting day-to-day academic operations and projects, while helping maintain a high standard of academic excellence in Michigan Athletics.

Mroczka connected students with appropriate resources to resolve academic challenges, and monitored study sessions ensuring compliance with academic requirements.

Before his time in Ann Arbor, Mroczka was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Southwestern Oklahoma State. While there, he implemented all aspects of conditioning for men’s basketball, softball and rodeo, and helped develop weekly programs for athletes for monitoring individual and team progress.

Mroczka also served as the interim head strength & conditioning coach for football. His duties included travel support, game day routines, and sideline control.

Mroczka earned a bachelor of science in exercise science from SUNY Brockport in 2022, where he also played collegiate baseball. He earned his masters in sports management from Southwestern Oklahoma State in 2024.
